"My desire is to see your child succeed. My strength is uniting the efforts of all those involved so we are all cheering your child on and providing every available support. I can help you understand the process and be an anchor for you both."
Lesa Barnett, The Founder Of Anchor Education Services Corporation,
Is A Special Educator
With Over 30 Years Of Experience In The Area Of Special Education.
I am first and foremost a wife and mom of three beautiful children each that have navigated the school system and post secondary options. I love the community in which I live and seek to serve others that may need support in their child's educational endeavors that are reasonable and affordable. I have been on both sides of the table during an Individual Education meeting as an educator and a parent, neither is an easy position. I have always strived to create a positive working team to meet the child's needs.
I have enjoyed providing children with the Least Restrictive Environment, behavioral support, speech and language support, occupational support, and advocating for my students and parents to obtain the skills needed for home, school and the community. I enjoy identifying and implementing research based strategies to address a child’s weaknesses to establish the foundation they need for future endeavors.
I am a firm believer in working with the whole child evaluating academic, social, adaptive, and behavioral strengths and weaknesses for successful learning experiences. I have supported parents and other educators with insight into behavioral concerns and ways to be more positive when dealing with individual challenges.
My emphasis is to help children reach their maximum potential in the areas of academics, communication, social, adaptive, play, leisure and work related skills needed for a firm foundation to ANCHOR their future!
I am not a lawyer, we have just spent years creating great IEP team building relationships to benefit a Child's learning process. Let us help bridge the gap from school to home.
